HAIT?: BloodSport Returns!

Kumite!  Kumite!

This is 50% awesome, 50% unbelievable and 50% heartbreaking.  The undisputed best film of Jean Claude Van Damme's career is supposedly getting a remake.  No word as to if JCVD himself will be making an appearance.

Bloodsport Remake gets some legitimate talent

Videogames as Art. Literally!

Following my last post, I was already content with my favorite hobby.  Then I read this wonderful news:
80 video games selected for Smithsonian art exhibit

Now I can say with a certain amount of factual clout that Videogames are indeed, Art.  Word.

Gamer does more with $25 than I have done with my life.

Many people seem to brush off videogames, their designers, and quite sadly the entire concept of the videogame industry as a type of poison or mind-numbing distraction for our younger generation.  I could sit here and rattle off countless breakthroughs in game design that have benefited education and society, or explain how the niche high-end PC gamer has pushed technology forward more than any Apple-teat sucking technophile has ever done.  But I will not.  I will instead merely point to this article, detailing the creation of a tiny computer that will usher in a new era for those not fortunate enough to be able to afford that shiny new iPad.

$25 USB Computer

Yes, the project seems to have been headed up by a very prominent videogame creator.  Bless his heart, Mr. Braben has an impressive catalogue of games that stress interaction and creativity.

At this moment I am proud to be a fellow gamer.

Because Lazers make everything better

Things that have benefitted from lazers (yes, with a 'z' cause it looks cooler):
Science Fiction
Powerpoint presentations
Surgery
Music Concerts
Sharks

And now, my dancing.

Adventure Time!

Growing up in Orange County is a surreal experience, especially where I live.  Smack in Little Saigon, I am surrounded by Vietnamese people everyday.  Travel a bit and I can easily hit enclaves dominated by pretty much any other ethnicity or culture.  However, since most of my young life I couldn't drive, I never really got a chance to 'explore' OC.

By the time I was old enough to actually go anywhere or do anything fun, I had already been enamored with the incredible opportunities that the LA scene provided.

My Second Dancing Tutorial

Finally finished the second tutorial after a crazy week of events.  Tim and the boys at the Imtech Loft were gracious enough to let me use their humble abode as the venue for this video.  However, I was not ready for the drastically different acoustical properties, so the sound is pretty bad and hard to hear.  Fortunately, the awesome laser machine Tim and I danced to made it all worth it :)

My first dancing tutorial

For your viewing pleasure.  I sound extra nasally thanks to allergies.  Can't wait to see what types of immature comments youtubers will post, yippee!

HAIT?: Tron Legacy Soundtrack remixed!

In today's post of 'How Awesome Is This?', I present to you the next album I will actually buy (not just download from a totally legit source that is not illegal in anyway whatsoever). In about a week, Daft Punk's already awesome Tron: Legacy soundtrack will be getting jealous of its newer, younger, sexier sibling, Tron: Legacy "Reconfigured".  This new album features remixes from many of today's hottest DJs in very original takes on Daft Punk's stellar album.

Finally, a legitimate method of describing your 'friends'

How many of you out there (all 2 of you) have ever had this conversation with friends:
You: "You're such a nerd."
Friend: "At least I'm not a dork like you."
You: "I'd rather be a dork than a nerd."
Friend: "Whatever you geek."
You: "Says a nerd.  Dorks are way cooler."
...ad infinitum until you realize that you both have no idea what any of those words really means.

So I have solved your verbal conundrum for you.

How Awesome Is This?

Egyptian orders a pizza for Wisconsin Demonstrators

It really amazes how the world is being shaped by technology.  It really is as if we're no longer divided by boundaries, but by ideals.  People can share ideologies half way across the globe.  One day, even North Korea and China will have to face the full onslaught of open information :)

Unreal Engine 3 update suprisingly Real

So Epic Games just released a video showing off the update to their already powerful and widely used Unreal Graphics Engine.  What do new features such as subsurface scattering, bokeh depth of field tricks and improved tessellation mean?  It means all those Zombie Nazis will look even more realistic than ever before.  Here's a REAL-TIME demo (meaning that's what the graphics could look like in an actual game).  You'll want to watch in 1080p:

5 Things: Less egregious but fairly annoying driving habits

So everyone gets annoyed while driving.  Road rage exists within us all every now and then.  However I will argue that us folk in Southern California have more right to rage than most of the states.  The mass congestion and overcrowded highways are legendary.  There are a lot of people in the world who just don't understand what traffic congestion is.

So on top of living in Southern California, I also live in Little Saigon.  This basically makes driving at least 5x worst.  I lived in Los Angeles for over 5 years and braved some of the worst traffic ever witnessed by the eyes of men, but I would much prefer bad congestion to bad driving.  It's not the time loss that gets to me, it's the COMPLETELY AND EASILY AVOIDABLE loss of time that pisses me off.  So here are 5 less egregious but fairly annoying driving habits:
